This term the year 7’s went on a trip to the Auckland Museum as part of our theme  ‘Art Attack’. We were all hoping for a lovely day but it turned out to be a rainy day. Before we went to the bus the teachers sorted us into groups.

Later on we waited for the second bus to arrived. I was so excited to go to the Museum because I haven’t been there in a long time. Just then the bus arrived. We all walked in a line to the bus.It didn’t take long before we got to the Museum.

We walked into the big door . As we got there we had morning tea up stars in the kai room. We went into our groups. We all got a piece of activity paper that we have to go around that Museum and complete.

As we got to the pacific room we had a look around. The first thing we had to do that was on the paper was to sketch a picture of a flax. After drawing the flax we moved on to the next one.   We had to choose a pattern to sketch so I sketched a pattern from the hand made bags.

I was on my last one and that was to sketch anything from inside the museum. I just finished “ yay ” I said to myself.

The activity was pretty cool. We had a quick tour around the Museum before we all gathered together  to go out to the domain. We saw some interesting things on the way which I got a little distracted  from. We had more look around then we gathered together. We all headed down stars had lunch then went out to the domain.

At the domain it really cool we took some pictures and got to play around. Meanwhile we went back to the museum and and waited for the others to come. While we were doing that the bus came “ yay” I shouted .

  draws and paints many things.

Colour

         Colour

There are three primary colours Red, Blue, and Yellow. When you mix Primary colours together it makes other colours. For example when you mix blue and Yellow it makes Green just like secondary colour.They are called primary colour because they called be mixed to make other colours. But when you mix other it won't work.

secondary colours are green, orange and violet. When you mix two primary colours together it makes secondary colours. secondary colours are made by mixing two primary colours together.When secondary colours are mixed they are called Tertiary colours.

Did you know that tertiary colors are also known as intermediate colors? . When mixing uneven amounts of two primary colors together makes tertiary colors. Tertiary colours are Yellow-Green, Blue-Green, Blue-Violet and Red-Violet.Tertiary colors are combinations of primary and secondary colours.

Holiday

Term Two was finish and the whole school got to have two weeks of holidays. The first day of the holidays I got to go shopping with my sister and also with my cousin that just got back from Australia. I was really excited to see her for the first time and also nervous because I didn’t know what to say.

   

Journing the holidays I had a long rest staying in bed I was really tired. Afterwards my mum called us to come and have breakfast . For our breakfast we had bacon and eggs on bread. “Come and have breakfast” shouted my mum just then I went out off bed and into the kitchen.

On the 2nd week of school holiday I got to go to rainbows end with my sister and her friends. When we got we saw a new ride called the stratosfear as I looked at it closely it was really scary. Meanwhile we were waiting in the line to go on the ride as we looked up we can see the ride going upside down .

It was the last day of holiday and I was really excited cause I couldn’t wait till school. In the morning we woke up to take my cousin  to the airport. It was really cold that I wear three jumpers. As we got home we all went straight to bed because we were really tired .

AFL is a sort word for Australian football league. Every Wednesday class 5 participate in AFL not only our class but the whole school. Each day there will be different classes going but sometimes they go on the same day but different time. The AFL is sometimes held in the hall if it raining but if it sunny it gets held outside.

The instructors were Tim and Emma.  So far we learnt 5 skills the drop punt , bouncing the ball, kick, handball, hand-mark and also the ruck work. One of the skills we learnt was really hard bouncing the ball and running. drop punt and ruck work was one of the skills that I learnt that were really easy to do. When you hold the football for drop punt make sure the laces are away from faces.

Every Wednesdays mornings at 10:20 we go to the hall for AFL. Before we start we start of with a warm up to get us started and to warm us of. Every Wednesdays mornings we try different warm ups.

Understanding Sound

Every Tuesday after school the year 6 to 8 girls goes to meet at the hall for netball. Every netball game is held at ami netball centre where every netball team participate to play netball. Last week on Tuesday our team the roses had a late game but we still won. The time that the netball games can only be held is from 4:30 to 6:30 . Those are the only times we can play netball.

When netball starts for the year 6 to 8 there always a grading round for three weeks. After the grading round they put you section's. The section that we are on for netball is section c. After they grading rounds we vs the team that are in the same section is us.

After our netball games we go to get changed before we go home. Every time when going to play netball your nails always have to be sort so that when you're playing netball you don't scratch someone. In netball you always have to tie your hair up so that you can see when your playing and you also have to make sure your laces tied so that you don't trip over.      

Sound Science experience

This afternoon class 5 got to go on sound activity. Making Music was the activity that I chose. As I was playing making music we had to match the sound to make the same pitch . On making music I learnt that high part of the wave is called crests and the low part of the wave is called troughs .

Playing making music was kind of hard cause we only got five chances to match each sound. When we click the hand with the pick it will pluck the string then the string will start to vibrate . When you shorter the string the sound will go higher.

Last Week Empathy Collage

Last week our class room 5 made a collage using a big paper using pastel, crayon, pictures and  words . Miss Paget gave us all a big paper. We all had to start of with a frame going around the paper. Then we had to glow empathy pictures on it to show empathy.

Some people that didn’t had pictures had to use pastel. Next was drawing the words with pastel

and crayon but some people had words. Last was the colouring. We all had to do the colouring last so the glow can stick on. At last my empathy collage turn out to be not so good because my

drawing was not so good.

Empathy is when you put yourself in their shoe and understanding someone feelings. On my empathy collage I put pictures and words on to show empathy and to also for people to under

stand what empathy means. I think empathy means understanding what the person is going throw and entering their feelings.

On my empathy photo  I had a picture of a one girl showing empathy to another girl than I had

the word empathy going up and down. In the background I had an eye to show that

empathy is also about seeing what they see.  

When we finish our empathy college we all had hand it into Miss Paget so she can stick it on

the wall. Making my empathy collage took me 4 or 5 minutes .

Mum had tears in her eyes Because Greta announced that they were getting married.

Mark and Michael were happy about the announcement Because without Greta in the house They wouldn't  had to share a bedroom.

life was getting difficult the closer it came Greta’s wedding Because there were too much to organise there were flowers,invitations,menus, and her and dads outfit.

“It’s just a stage,” said mum to Greta (mum meant the wedding wouldn't last lond).

Hannah wasn't happy about being a bridesmaid Because she wasn't happy at the outfits that Greta was showing her.Give example in the story.

Hannah change her mind when she got to wear what she wanted to wear. It got better when Greta took her shopping in town.

Every Morning  I woke up at 7:00 with a big yawn “AHHHH” for school in the morning. Sometimes I try to wake up early to get school on time because the year 7 and 8 start at 8:30 in the morning. First I have breakfast then I  have a shower and then getting ready for school.

Every morning I walk to school with my brothers and sisters. But sometimes we go in the car.As I get to school I sometimes do my shoe laces so that what makes me late or sometimes my sisters walk slow and sometimes I get angry. But on raining days

I go by car before my dad go to work.

Hi my name is ofa I am 11 years old. I am a year 7 student at Pt England school . I like to play netball,touch,rugby. I  have four sisters plus me is four and four brothers. I live with my brothers,sisters and my mum and dad. I live in G.I . My friends are D.J , Kevine , Emmy,Lizara .

Things I like to do in the holidays or weekends

I like to go pools in the weekends  for a swim because I like swimming. What I like to do in the holidays is go to rainbows end with my brothers and sisters. I really wish we had school the holidays because I like to learn about things that I didn't know before.

My favourite colour is blue and my favourite fruit is orange because it nice and juicy. My favourite sport  is netball.
